Women's Ministries Prayer Items April 2010

[Current month]

Effective Prayer (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

Bill and Diane Finnemore, Poland
  1. A couple wrote to them that they were very happy that they could attend the recent Marriage Encounter Weekend, which changed their lives and their relationship to each other.  They gave praise to God.
  2. A few weeks ago, Jen, Bill’s sister, has discovered to have breast cancer. She will start chemo-therapy soon. Please continue to pray for Jen and her family and Bill's parents who are helping out the family to take care of the 2 years old Joshua.
Bonnie & Derek Burnett, Thailand
  1. Pray for Somkit & Suda about their exams & finances.
  2. La Oh has to go back into the hospital for a second surgery.  She still feels the pain after the first surgery. The doctor determined that he hadn’t got all of it after taking an x-ray.  Please continue to pray for her.
  3. Derek has encouraged a student in Baan Pai to begin teaching teens and then adults. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will give her the gifts and the confidence to do this.
  4. Tong Bai is still losing weight. Please keep praying that the Lord will bring healing to her mouth.
  5. Pray for Pastor Utane as he leads his Saw Saw Paw Group. He’s been doing a great job and this is a huge encouragement to Derek as it’s a direct answer to the prayer that the Centre Leaders have clarity of purpose
  6. Derek had a good time sharing with Nutcharee & Nuht from God’s Word, whose church has bought a piece of land.  They hope to begin building before the end of the year.
  7. Another encouragement is seeing the students preach (part of their course work) and see the Holy Spirit use these willing young people is thrilling
John & Lorraine Young, Spain
  1. To celebrate their 7th anniversary, the church held the first child dedication service for 11 kids from 7 families, with Lorraine being the keynote speaker.  The parents had sincerity in their hearts in the dedication service.
  2. With input from experienced pastors, and through confirmation in the Spirit, the church will expand and go deeper into the Chinese communities around Madrid.  They see the need to reach students came from Mainland China studying Spanish and university-educated young Chinese immigrants.  Please pray that they have the wisdom and insight to get into this ministry.
Anne Louie, Netherlands
The outreach workshop March 13 went very well. Around 45 people attended. After the meeting, they had good fellowship among Christians and seekers. The church and the student fellowship worked well as a team together. Please pray for the follow up for the non-believers. Also, pray for more opportunity for the church to work with the other Christian groups in order to share the Gospel in Amsterdam.

Mary McElhone, Indonesia
She has started her last unit of language study and meets with a tutor 5 days of the week. Please pray that she will be able to maximize her learning during the final month in Bandung.  She is in the process of applying new visa. Pray that the application is smooth and she will receive the visa promptly.
