Women's Ministries Prayer Items July-August 2010

[Current month]

Effective Prayer (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

Lois Belsey and Mary McElhone, Indonesia
Praise God that Lois Belsey was able to renew her visa for another year and Mary McElhone’s visa finally came through. Pray for Lois and Mary as they prepare for the short-term ministry team arriving in August. The Iratoi airstrip has been under construction since March, and they will need to land there with all the construction supplies for the short-term team. Pray they will be able to land at this airstrip without any complications.

Anne Louie, Netherlands
  • Pray for wisdom for Rev. Peter Ho (from Hong Kong) who will be speaking at the Marriage Seminar on 8th. of August. Pray that the couples in attendance will be enriched by the teaching, and that good relationships will be formed. Pray that they can reach out to new friends through this seminar.
  • Pray that Anne will have the wisdom and the strength to pastor to the congregation as well as writing her thesis for her degree.
  • Pray that the people who are affected by the economic downturn will learn to trust God.
Stanley and Rosa Leung, Venezuela

They praise the Lord for the successful completion of the church building expansion project.  And on June 27, the Valencia CAC will celebrate its 14th Anniversary.  They thank the Lord for His faithful presence in their midst as they have witnessed God’s work in bringing new people to His kingdom and the spiritual maturity in the church members.  Please pray:

  • For the three members of the Board (Mrs. Tse, Mrs. Tang and Mr. Cheung) who will take turn to chair the Board after Stanley and Rosa leave for home assignment in July.
  • For the need of pastoral leadership as the church is not ready yet to continue on its own without the leadership of a full time worker.
  • For the six believers that took the classes for baptismal service on July 11. Pray that they will grow strong and firm in their relationship with God, and that their faith will be grounded in God’s word.
Anne Stephens, Republic of Congo (Home Assignment since June)
She recently wrote of her move to Edmonton and thanked God for providing 12 people from her church to help her move. Her colleague , Vicki Murdock would like to thank everyone who prayed for her. She is making good progress after her bone marrow transplant two months ago. This past week she was able to return home and is settling into her own apartment. She will continue to go to Detroit (from Toledo) twice a week for check-ups. Please pray:
  • For Anne Stephens as she continues to speak at churches. Pray for God’s protection as she travels and for God’w Words and the working of His Spirit as she speaks.
  • For Dave and Teresa Bill’s summer program of church planting in surrounding villages, youth and children’s ministries and continued Theology Extension program to train local church leaders.
  • For Vicki’s continued recovery. She has skin rashes due to the medication.
